G I G A R C H I V E S & R E V I E W S 13 January 2005 - The Sunrooms, Southend A first for us, we'd never played here before in any incarnation. The Sunrooms is a cool place with an intimate atmosphere. Unfortunately SUBSCRIBE had to pull out of the gig so there was just us and MONEYSHOT. We had a far better gig than @ Chinnery's which was obviously a good thing! Between the 2 bands we decided to give the door money to the Tsunami appeal and raised £100. 7 January 2005 - Chinnery's, Southend Always a pleasure coming down here for a gig, whoever is on sound Mike, Rob or Glyn you always get a good sound on stage and out front of house. Unfortunately for us this was one of those gigs where it all went horribly wrong in terms of technical difficulties...My guitar somehow decided it was a tissue box strung with elastic bands halfway through new song "My Truth, Your Truth" and then continued to be out-of-bloody-tune from that moment on :(...Andy D was having great fun sorting out guitar cable problems he had as well, NOT. However, what can ya do except press on regardless? so we got through the gig and hope the next one @ Chinnery's is a lot better!!. Lol, ah well. 24 December 2004 - The Box Club, Chelmsford, Essex. A first outing for the band down to sunny Chelmsford for a gig. We were second on the bill supporting local rock band Traffic To Nowhere. It was busier than we' would have thought for Christmas Eve and we all got rather merry...Gotta say this venue has an Interesting stage set up where half the band has to perform behind a wall unless you're the approximate size of emaciated versions of the dwarves from "Spinal Tap"...(see video it's one of the best films in the world aside from The Big Lebowski). The PA is set up in a bizarre place as well, centrally set into the middle of the wall...you stand behind. However, the staff are friendly. An Ok venue for beginning bands. 20 August 2004 - Chinnerys, Southend-On-Sea,Essex. CLUB BURNT 4 band night.A welcome return to one of our most famous local venues. We were third on the bill following Frasiers bar headliners Colourkinesis and locals The Sam I Am. The night was closed by Southend rockers Presence Of Mind. It was a varied bill of music to say the least and was a varied audience. It seems like the sound of hard rock is what the majority of punters want to hear @ Chinnery's but we received a good reception in any case. The sound is always spot on here mixed by Rob. We always have a great time gigging here. Chinnery's Set List: The Big Picture, Remembrance Day, Victories, All The Time In The World, The Sky Is Falling, Middle Class Life, Beautiful Thing, Yellow. · 11 August 2004 - Frasiers Bar, Wickford, Essex supporting COLOURKINESISOur first gig since June 2003 and the songs seemed to be well received by a 100+ crowd, supporting Colourkenesis and Wish The Impossible. This was the first night of a new band night at Frasiers Bar Wickford run by Pulling Strings Promotions. These guys know what they're doing with a friendly approach to new bands, PA gear and sound mixing. Any bands just starting out might want to check out playing a gig here. Frasiers Set List: The Big Picture, Remembrance Day, Victories, All The Time In The World, The Sky Is Falling, Middle Class Life, Beautiful Thing, Yellow. |
